Building efficient solutions with Spark and Cassandra.

For the first time, we will meet together and exchange our Cassandra experience, ask questions to each other and have some fun. There will be a presentation by Oscar Méndez and Alvaro Agea, followed by a Q&A session.

What you will learn at this meetup:
• Building efficient solutions that integrate both Spark and Cassandra
• Why Spark needs Cassandra and vice versa
• Work in progress to benchmark and proofs of concept known to date.

¿Quiénes son los ponentes?

Álvaro Agea Herradón

Álvaro Agea es un especialista en tecnologías distribuidas y participa en el diseño, desarrollo e implantación de nuevas arquitecturas que resuelven problemas de Big Data. Para ello utiliza tecnologías como Hadoop, Spark; sistemas de stream processing como Storm; bases de datos NoSQL como Cassandra y sistemas de Enterprise Search com Solr y ElasticSearch. Actualmente esta encargado del diseño y la arquitectura en Stratio.

Óscar Méndez

Oscar Méndez is co-founder and CEO of Paradigma Digital and Stratio. Paradigma is an Internet solutions company with clients, mostly IBEX 35 companies, in Spain and in 14 other countries. Stratio is a product company developing Big Data technologies on top of open source software to cater for clients world-wide. Stratio is based in Campbell, CA.
